Dev Log 4
This past semester has been a great foray into the production and documentation work that goes into successfully planning a long term game project. The documentation the team has covered over the past few weeks have contained, but not been limited to; a Risk Analysis, A Project Plan Schedule, and a Project Plan document that overviews both the previous ones.
These documentations and the process of working through them as a team has proven to be useful, as it helps puts the team collectively on the same page as we plan to move into development for the second semester. Being able to agree on schedules, timing, discuss potential risks, and make contingency plans I have found to be pretty useful in preparing for development. Learning about the ins and outs of this process has been a great learning outcome, and one that will prove to be useful once development truly begins in the following year. Since my primary role is producer, I am looking forward to be able to work on development, while getting the opportunity to see if all the planning and documentation the team has done this year will be useful, or if the team will discover new challenges or better alternatives along the way.
